Application Process
Execute License Agreement
A Pole Attachment License Agreement must be executed between BPUB and the applicant before any attachment is authorized.
Submit Application
Submit a complete application including a map, pole loading analysis, and a summary of make-ready work.
Make-Ready Work
Complete any required make-ready work, such as pole replacements or transfers of existing attachments.
Receive Permit
Once all requirements are met and work is complete, a permit for attachment will be issued.
Pole Attachments Overview
- Eligible entities include providers of cable television, telecommunication, and certain other data or communication services, including wireless service, who possess the right by virtue of city, state, or federal law to access and operate on electric utility infrastructure.
- Formal agreements enforce compliance with applicable construction and safety standards in a non-discriminatory manner by all attaching entities.
- Attachment fees are based on the latest BPUB-approved pole attachment rates, promoting fair compensation and efficient utility operations.
- BPUB is not responsible for damage to any unauthorized equipment or facilities on our poles, for any reason.
