Insurance & Coverage

BPUB pays 100% of the employee's monthly medical and dental insurance premiums, plus a portion of the dependents' premiums. BPUB also pays 100% of the employee's long-term disability and life insurance premiums. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.

Tuition Assistance Program

Reimbursement of up to 100% for tuition, books, and fees for associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees, subject to the employee earning passing grades.

Professional Development

Reimbursement for the cost of approved training, books, exams, and fees for accredited certifications and licenses for full-time employees.

Retirement & Savings

Employees automatically become members of the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) and contribute a mandatory 8% of their gross income toward their retirement plan. For every $1.00 that the employee contributes, BPUB contributes $2.00. Employees are vested after five years of service. Membership in TMRS includes additional life insurance coverage for the employee.
