BPUB is authorized to grant variances by the terms of the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan if failure to grant the variance would cause an emergency condition adversely affecting the health, sanitation, or fire protection for the public or the person requesting the variance. Additionally, if one or more of the following conditions are met:
- Compliance with BPUB's Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan cannot be accomplished during the water supply shortage or other conditions for while the plan is in effect.
- Alternative methods can be implemented to achieve the same level of reduction in water use.
